Services
Private Lessons
Our private one-hour lessons provide personalized, hands-on training tailored to you and your dog’s unique needs. Whether you’re addressing specific behavioral challenges or building a strong foundation in obedience, these sessions are designed to give you clear, practical guidance.
You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how your dog interprets your communication and develop the skills to engage with them more effectively. With focused instruction and customized strategies, private lessons empower you to strengthen your partnership and achieve lasting results together.
Board & Train
Our Board & Train programs provide your dog with either a 2 or 4-week immersive training experience, followed by private lessons to ensure lasting success at home.
During their stay, your dog will live in a comfortable, environment, monitored around the clock, and engaged in multiple training sessions each day.
Your dog will learn:

Core obedience commands: sit, stay, come, down, and place

Loose leash walking

Environmental exposure (downtown settings, parks, new people, dogs, and farm animals)

Thorough proofing of behaviors under real-world distractions
We also welcome any specific goals or challenges you’d like addressed during the program. Upon graduation, you and your dog will receive private follow-up lessons to reinforce training in everyday life.
Canine Good Citizen Testing
Clients who successfully complete their board & train follow-up lessons or a private lesson package are offered an opportunity to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA), and Canine Good Citizen Urban (CGCU) tests. Hard work pays off!
Trick Dog Testing
In addition to CGC testing, clients can earn AKC Trick Dog Titles. Our trainer is both a CGC and Trick Dog Evaluator. Trick training is a wonderful way to bond and have fun with your dog!
About the Trainer
At the heart of Cold Mountain Canine is owner and trainer Lori Dillon, whose passion for dogs is matched by over a decade of hands-on experience.
With a strong foundation in canine behavior and training, Lori has apprenticed and learned under respected professionals in obedience, rally, dock diving, herding, and behavioral rehabilitation.
As both a trainer and competitor, Lori has successfully titled dogs in AKC, NADD, and UAD events, bringing a wealth of real-world experience to every client team. This blend of competition-level expertise and practical training knowledge allows Lori to guide owners with clarity, patience, and proven methods.
Dedicated to strengthening the bond between humans and their dogs, Lori specializes in helping clients build clear communication and confidence—ensuring happy, balanced lives together.
